| Well, the summer has started, and I guess it's been a good start. I'm back at the golf course working 35-45 hour weeks and trying to save as much money as possible. It feels like I live there sometimes, but it's better than the hell-hole they call Days Inn in Concordia. That job made me be grateful I have this one back home. Mike stayed here at my mom's for the last two weeks. Mom and I took him to the airport on Saturday, and he is now in London, studying Shakespeare for three weeks. Hopefully he comes back with something good for his fiance...Until then I'm trying to occupy myself with work and stuff around the house and social things when I have the opportunity or the time. I had dinner with Jessica and Nick on Saturday night. It was really good to see my girl again, and Nick seems like a great guy. I can tell he makes her happy. Wedding plans are, well, going. They are also changing. Mike and I are seriously considering moving our ceremony to a place a little more...tropical. We would still have a reception in Warrensburg to celebrate with extended family and friends, but we're considering doing the ceremony as a beginning of our honeymoon. Such a big decision....and I have to know soon! Let me know what you guys think. I think I'm really excited. haha Well, I hope all is well with everyone and that you all are having fun and/or productive summer "vacations." Hopefully I can see some of you...drop me a line if you are in Independence (living or visiting), and maybe we can set something up.
Love, Daisy

| We're done! Hurray!! I'm so glad this semester is over. Aside from all the exciting wedding stuff, this semester has pretty much sucked. But, deep breath, it's over and now I can start working at the golf course and making money again. But, alas, not money to be spent....it's reserved for rent and honeymoon (teehee). Wedding plans are coming along. It looks like Mike and I are going to have enough money to cover our portion of the wedding that we have to pay for, but my mom had some medical issues recently, and she doesn't have health insurance, so we might have to pick some of it up. If worst comes to worst, we'll have to downsize the guest list or something, but that's not too bad. I'm really excited about everything. My girl Stephanie took our engagement photos yesterday, and they're super-good. I'll put some of the good ones up later. We're going to live together next year, with Jessica, and I'm really looking foward to that. My fiance AND my best friend all in one place. I think it's going to be fun. Well, I hope everyone has a great summer, and good luck to the graduates. Here's to a good vacation (and summer classes for some of us), and a good year next year, too! Love, Daisy

| Sorry for not updating sooner, but life has had me just going and going and going..... Wedding plans are well on the way. It seems like we have so long before it happens, but we're trying to spread things out so it doesn't seem like it hurts so bad financially. haha We've decided to get married in the chapel on the CMSU campus. We needed a non-demoninational chapel that was kind of a half-way point between his family (St.Louis) and my family (Topeka), so where better to get married than the campus we met at? We also want to have our reception in one of the ballrooms in the Union, since that really is where we met (yay for Phi Sigma Pi info night). Our wedding colors are also purple and yellow, PSP colors, because it's so symbolic of why we're together (that and we both bleed purple and gold haha). And of course I'm going to carry daisies. His uncle has agreed to marry us, and his sister has offered to hand-make all our invitations...for free. That's a big load off, for sure. Things are very exciting, and thinking about all of it is what helps keep my stress from the rest of my life down! I really do hate my job. Working Thursday through Sunday, usually 6-midnight, sometimes more, really kills the social life. But, I guess I gotta pay the rent somehow. I can't wait to go back the golf course. If only I didn't have to be separated from Mike for the summer. Which reminds me, if anyone knows of anyone that needs a roommate for next year, let me know, because Mike and I are looking for someone to live in B1 with us. Just FYI. On a good note, I was just elected Vice President for Phi Sigma Pi for next year. I'm really excited. It's a big job, and I hope I didn't just put too much on my plate for my senior year (along with planning a wedding!). I've got a lot of ideas for the frat, and can't wait for exec next year. Except, of course, for the people who are leaving us.... Man this has been kind of a long entry. Sorry if you're still reading. I'll try to give more frequent, and less lengthy, updates. At least I say I will. No promises. Hope everyone has a good rest of the week!

| I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!
Can you believe it? Mike asked me to marry him on Saturday, and we're super excited! I still can't hardly believe it's happening. It's pretty huge. I'll keep you all updated on wedding plans!
Then, on Sunday, Mike's sister (who just had a baby), asked me to be a godparent with Mike to little Karter, since I'm going to be a part of the family now. Again, huge news!
In other news, the whole weekend was awesome, because of Phi Sigma Pi Founders' Weekend. The parties were amazing, and the other stuff was some pretty good brother bonding. And I can't forget my 3 o'clock ladies...haha I love you guys.
I also got to hang out with my best friend *and Maid of Honor* Jess last night, and it was awesome. I miss those talks, and it was super fun to laugh at all the ridiculous dresses in the catalog I just got. I love you Jess!! And you know I'm proud of you and stand by you no matter what.
Hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day. Mine's already perfect...I'm getting married!! | | |
